Don’t close your eyes

Don’t close your eyes… Don’t close your eyes.

This is your life, are you who you wanna be?

A quiet night draws attention to the calm sky of nothingness,

The wind blew to her senses,

It’s cold but she doesn’t feel like staying warm,

She wanna close her eyes, and smile for a while.

Living is simple? Living is simple.

Behind the dark sky, unveils someOne who cares,

‘Peace, my child. May I offer you that?’

There are 2 ways of doing things, my way or Yours,

Mine is not working.

Let’s do it Your way…

Living is simple. Living is simple? Living is simple.

And she wanna accept help, she wanna accept the good offer.

She welcomes encouragement like open arms,

One needs strength especially to the heart.

Situation overwhelms, nothing she can’t handle.

Living is simple? Her eyes reflect her heart.

‘But help me God’ pleaded she.

Walk on, and declare victory when the hour arrives.

Great is Thy faithfulness.

Morning by morning, new mercies she sees.

All that she needed, Thy hands had provided.

Great is Thy faithfulness unto me…

In the midst of working in prosthetic lab, I broke a few stone teeth from the cast. It can be fixed with a few drops of SupaGlu, but I just announced

‘I wanna quit dentistry!’

and I received a few chuckles from colleagues around me.

‘Oh, it’s too late.’ and ‘ Oh, Alexis, you’re already in year 4′. To all juniors who read this, my apologies for possibly stumbling you. To all my colleagues, Haha! We’re in the same boat! God help us… I plead.

Wah……. OS Day

Thursday, July 27th, 2006

Today is expected to be great day for another reason.

It’s because morning we are on for ‘Oral Surgery - Extraction’ and afternoon we are on for ‘Minor Oral Surgery-Demonstration’. Great, because both sessions require no need to call patients or making appointments on our part. Oral Surgery patients will stand by, waiting for us to come in.

Extraction (Xn) for Group E starts at 10am. As we march in the Xn clinic, some did noticed a long queue of folders at the counters, names and people waiting patiently to be called inside. That’s why patients are called patients.

Wah! SO many people want to cabut gigi ar?? And the action begins. We vish-voshing, no braking, taking turns, clerking, confidence building, X-ray interpreting, LA jabbing, twist twist turning, dig digging, swing pulling, and kept in a standing position for 3 hours til it’s lunch time 1 pm. But the action is nowhere slowing down! Same goes to the folders queue at the registry counter!!

I’ve got so much adrenalin pumping on (I enjoy Xn actually), that I forgot to feel hungry. I’m fasting anyway. Just that now, the whole group is gonna fast with me. Haha! At 1.30pm, all cubicle units still working. I noticed none Group E ppl finished and went out for lunch break. Imagine other students relaxing and chatting away in the canteen… I thought cheerfully ‘Well, this is going to break some records’.

A few units pressed the ‘call light’ silently shouting for Dr Ismadi’s attention. Suddenly, Dr Ismadi is a busy man, like a bee fluttering from unit to unit. He still maintains a great spirit and energy. Same goes to the nurses, waiting for us to finish our jobs.

We finally took off our Xn gowns and clean up at 2pm, only to wear our white coats and march into next door Minor Oral Surgery. Colleagues from other groups are entering polyclinic after a lunch and an hour’s break, recharged. while we stole some 5-10 minutes for toilet and a drink of water or perhaps a nibble of whatever left over in the canteen.

Like no break nor brake, here comes afternoon patients. We gathered in MOS clinic. When a nurse saw us, she froze and kinda asked ‘Inikah kumpulan yang buat Xn sampai pukul 2 tadi?’ Then Dr Ismadi came in, glanced at us students and noticed these are the same faces from the morning. Hello again, Dr.

I know it’s no big deal working overtime. But it had been exciting and tiring at the same time. To stand for 4 hours. To do Xn (whole group) for 4 crazy hours! To stop a short while and come back again watching Xn done, this time as a surgical demonstration.

Had been a great day. Praise God.

Hope my bros and mom and dad are alright wherever they are.

I have nice and interesting people around me… Housemates, coursemates, CG mates and all. These are the time we spent and live together as our path crosses. Have you noticed?

The Blues… Switchfoot

Is this the new year, or just another night? Is this the new fear, or just another fright?

Is this a new tear, or just another desperation…

Is this the finger, or just another fist? Is this the kingdom, or just a hidden maze?

I missed direction, most in all this desperation.

Is this what they call freedom? Is this what you call pain?

Is this what they call discontented fate?

There’d be a day like this one, when the world caves in. When the world caves in.

I’m singing this one, like a broken piece of glass. From broken arms and broken noses in the back,

Is this the new year or just another desperation.

Sunrays2

You’re pushing till you’re shoving.

You bent until you break,

Do you stand on the broken fields where your father’s laid.

Been on a day like this one, when the world caves in.

When the world caves in…

When the world caves in.

It’s nothing here we’re saving. There’s no one here at all,

Is there any net left that can break our fall?

And been a day like this one when the sky falls down,

And the hungry and pouring and deserved to be found.

Have you been pushing hard? Are you discontented?

Have been through this darkness, broken as it calls.

And you’ve been to a day like this one, when the world caves in, when the world caves in.

There’s nothing left now. Nothing left to sing,

Are there any left to ever kiss the enemy,

Is this the new year, or just another desperation.

ParsonsfreedomCoz justice will find you. We can never lose,

Is there any other songs to sing besides these Blues,

And nothing is okay til the world caves in,

Til the world caves in,

Til the world caves in,

Til the world caves in….

p/s It’s no fun visitng a friend at Gyn ward…

I got books, but I don’t wanna study

Books, later la ya.

Blog. So what kinda blog that attracts attention? Is blog meant to attract attention in the first place? How did Kenny Sia do it??

So school dah open. Orientation kicks in. Young boys and girls with blur blur faces became our source event. Kinda looking forward to lunch time just to see them. No worries, I am benign, so as compared to some colleagues/ coursemates who are loudly malignant. Benign, but mischievous.

Then yesterday, I announced to myself that I had enough of orientation for this year already. Why? I dunno, perhaps purposed unreached. I seriously doubt how far the freshies ‘know’ us or vice versa. Anyway, the heated engine just die down that is. Prefer to know people under zero pressure. That’s when people will be who they really are, isn’t it so?

Clinics are slow-paced, and I lost my name tag. Where could it be….? Oh, I got mucous in my nose and perhaps, maxillary antrum. I heard great things happened to Hang Chai and Wai Leng today, greatly encourages me how a God can really be YOUR God.

I got books, I still don’t wanna study. Perhaps I should go take a nap now, awaiting the clock to strike 12…

God bless, ya all.
