Faith healing

December 10th, 2008 by cnose

If we don’t put into words the things we went through in life, eventually time will dilute the significance of the day. Had been ages since I write here (as in, writing here). But today I must ensure myself to remember this day for many many long years to come.

Our church conducted a Supernatural Healing Service, with bro Peter Truong from Hope Brisbane came and prayed for those who needed healing.

When this project first came, my heart was filled with excitement, and of course, equal amount of fear. Faith Goal : 30 people attending the meeting. Wow, man! 30. How are we gonna hit 30 people?? Who will actually be interested to come ??

Supernatural Healing involves our prayers moving the hands of our loving God to heal inner hurts or physical sickness. Isa 55 “by His blood , He heals our wounds”

I knew in my head that God can heal any diseases. The blind will see, the deaf hear, the mute to speak! I heard this a thousand times. But why are our hearts ringing with fear? ;-)

Anyway, people of God exchanged fear with faith. We printed out around 300 flyers. We want to go out and invite people not to miss this chance to know the Lord. Although in the corner of our hearts, we wonder if there will ever be one respondent from the flyers.

At another note, before the Healing Meeting starts, bro Peter Truong told a few of us (among which I am the youngest at age) to stand in front and pray + lay hands for the people who come to the front needing healing.

The whole day I felt excited. jittery. I resolute to seek God and abstained from food the whole day until the Service is over. Duh… 11 am already started to feel hungry ;-) and VERY hungry at 3pm. But hey, I hunger even more for God’s power this night!

I told God… I really don’t know what is going to happen tonight. I have NO IDEA what to expect Lord. This is a spiritual event. I felt like I am doing something impossible. It was then I realize that when we are attempting something seemingly impossible for God, we have no choice but to fully depend on God. Whose grace is sufficient.

The night came…. Aw… the church started to fill with faces we rarely/never see. Where does these people come from? Faithful friends invited them to come and see the Lord! We see a lot of warga emas. My heart constricted when I saw a man with only one foot, on crutches, painstakingly making his way up the stairs. Hey, such faith!

The Service started for 20 minutes. I went downstairs and told ushers to wrap up in 5. Am feeling perhaps there is one more person who needs healing. Then he appeared… Daniel. I was so amazed when a wheelchair was being lifted out of the car. This man cannot walk !! He came because he wanted to seek Jesus! I remembered the story of a paralytic man during Jesus’ time. The house was too crowded and paralytic man cannot go in. His friends took him to the roof and started to dig a hole. Then they lowered the paralytic man into the house in front of Jesus. Jesus said ‘Your faith healed you.’

I thought, no matter what, we’re gonna get this man upstairs!

He showed us tremendous faith, and we are going to show him that we have faith too!

Out of kay-pohness, I checked out the visitors registration list. There is one column stated  ‘invited by’. And something ordinary really caught my eye. Somebody wrote there ‘flyer.’ WHAT ?! Our flyer reached a responding soul! By the way, the flyer is black and white, no biggie deal. I thought there and then ‘O Lord, printing out 300 flyers and then to have ONE respondent is WORTH IT! Praise God, forgive me of little faith.’

When the healing session started, sick people came to the front for prayer. I stood at the side hesitating to lay my young hands on these uncle aunties and old people. I prayed from the side. Until bro Peter SHOT me a look like What-are-you-doing-there, come-and-lay-hands-pray-in-front-of-these-people! Ok k… I started to exercise authority. Once started, praise God amazingly, I got bolder and bolder, moving from one to another.

Collectively, the church saw an 85 year old lady with blurred vision. After praying, she started to read the wordings on the LCD projection!

A lady with one foot shorter than the other constantly experience pain on the legs because of poor load distribution. After praying, her toes and heels came to the same level. She felt heat and pain at her right shorter foot when we were praying for her. ‘I believe God was working something on the foot,’ said she.

Another old man improved hearing after praying. And other wonders not recorded here.

Wow, God was truly moving among our midst!!

I broke fast with total thanksgiving, overwhelmed by God’s grace and love.  It is real more than the air that I breathe. I am at loss of words describing about God’s love. I can only say it’s real and tangible. And it is available for all.

Total count of the night?  41, Hallelujah….

I dropped asleep with my heart humbled, spirit filled, faith strengthened.

And yikes… I woke up late the next day, and almost late for work. Then again, I just smiled at everything because life is great.

I swear I saw Masi Oka (Hiro Nakamura) at a restaurant while I was in Beijing.

ya ya… i chickened-out. He looked very blur in the midst of 20 plus caucasians, not the smiling-yatta! persona. Haha! Anyways… my loss. No pictures or signatures to show u guys, sorry!

By the way, the gang of caucasians? If Tim Kring and other behind-the-film roll producers are there, I wouldn’t be able to recognize or congratulate them for job well done. Lolz!

Go HEROES! I’m waiting for Season 3 to complete, then I will start and finish the whole season in 1 day.

It ain’t easy, most of the times,

When the aLexis today wants to be a better aLexis than yesterday,

Coz I made a handful of mistakes…

Maybe unknown to you but certainly not unknown to You,

And praise God for a nagging conscience.

Praise God for the ethical core.

Welcome to the fallout, the existence,

Tension is here,

Between who I am and who I could be,

Between how it is and how it should be.

Dare myself to move,

Like today never happens.

Maybe redemption is stories to tell,

Forgiveness is right by,

Long to escape from yourself,

Where you gonna go? Where…?

Salvation is here….                            Switchfoot

Learning to be transparent and responsible.

With great power comes greater responsibilities.

A perfect time to break my cockiness, the invincible arrogance.

Your grace is sufficient for me.

Today

22 May 2008

, I just officially got my Doctorship =) Isn’t it a memorable day, and all praises given to God ?

I am at the airport now, Coffee Bean, sipping ice-blended and browsing through the sweet memories of last week Phuket trip. Thinking about my dear course mates still at Putrajaya listening to the necessary humdrum.

O well, the get up and leave moment was really tough. Due to circumstances, I can’t properly bid farewell to my dearest friends. We can only wave and gaze, parted by the table and chairs, and the ongoing lecture. Definitely not what I had in mind, but of course if I get to hug ya all, surely the water dam of the lacrimal gland will break. Joan who sat beside me, gave me a hug I appreciate but chose not to return for fear of wetting my cheeks. My comrades of 5 years…

In life, paths cross. People come and people go. Every hello has a goodbye. The thing that matters is during that encounter, how we had impacted one another’s life. It is weird not to see the people that you used to see everyday. It is not my first episode of goodbye, but I never get used to farewells =)

To my dental friends, we will meet again during convo la, get togethers la or even during FDI-MDA conferences, k. And whoever getting married, must invite me, ok !! And if I am getting married, all of you must come okkkk !!!

To my friends in Christ, continue to walk with Jesus. Til we meet at convention or la la la. Even if say, we do not meet again, let’s cheer for each other at the finishing line ok.

I cherish ya all. Apologize for all the stupid things I’ve said and done. Thank you for being part of my life, supporting me in these 5 colorful years.

Hugs and kisses. See ya soon.

All VIVA lists were out ;-)

We made it… The journey finally came to an end, and the dawn of new beginning awaits. Congratulations, ya all….

When the realization came upon me that we are officially no more ‘budak dental’, it was quite a quiet emotional moment. Haha! We have a (eherm) ‘Doctor’ title in front of our names le… ;-)

Tough work, 5 years of blood, sweat and tears, great friendship, bla bla bla… wooooh !

To the young ones reading this, before you know it, you’ll hit this moment. And tho many individuals had serious doubt about inability to graduate together with your batchmates (righto?), we did it..

Keep in touch, boys and gals ;-)

Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways. Proverbs 20:30 (GNT)

No one’s life is an unbroken chain of victories.

five common causes of failure:

· When we don’t plan ahead – Proverbs 27:12 (LB) says, “A sensible man watches for problems ahead and prepares to meet them.”

· When we think we’ve “arrived” – Remember the lesson of the whale: just when you get to the top, and you start to blow– that’s when you get harpooned! Proverbs 16:18 (GNT) says, “Pride leads to destruction, and arrogance leads to downfall.”

· When we’re afraid to take necessary risks – The fear of failure can cause failure. We worry about what others will think of us if we fail, so we don’t even try.  “Fear of man is a dangerous trap” (Proverbs 29:25 LB).

· When we give up too soon – Many times, success is just around the corner. Remember, the game is often won in the final seconds. The value of a postage stamp is found in its ability to stick to one thing until it gets there.

· When we ignore God’s advice – The Bible is our owner’s manual for life. It is filled with practical instructions and guidelines for work, home, finances, relationships, and health. When we fail to follow these, we’re asking for trouble. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” (Proverbs 14:12 NIV).

Failure is never final unless you let it be!

Be encouraged.
